I have a set of these on my alder rosewood j bass. Fat beam strings are the best.

They have a nice balanced response not overly bright but very present even volume across the strings. The a d and g strings are very close to dr hi beams in feel and tone but with a slightly looser feel. Check him out for a variety of reasons as well as to hear some characteristics of these strings. I m mostly a finger player as opposed to a slapper but if you need to pop the response stays even.
