There are normal electric machines with cord battery operated and propane powered burnishers on the market.

Burnishers look similar to buffers but are much heavier which provides added pressure to help produce a wet look shine. It is used most commonly on hardwood linoleum and marble floors because these surfaces cannot be damaged by the spinning pad. With advancements in robotics autonomous floor scrubbing robots are available as well. Floor burnishing requires a burnisher.

At the base this device contains a pad that rotates at high speeds in order to clean and polish floor surfaces. There are many types of pads that can be used for floor burnishing but some of the more common ones are a light tan in color and or have natural fibers incorporated in to the weave of the pads material. A simple definition is that a burnisher is a device used to clean and polish floors. Each type has benefits and drawbacks and so are generally selected for the area that the unit will be used in. The polymer is the most important part of the finish.
